Rakia's first development project was in 2002 with the Washington Hospital Center. The engagement produced a productivity match of 1 Rakia to 5 employees. Rakia's work resulted in a 78% paper billing process converted to 10%, moving its 2002 billing system to a fully digital solution, and enhancing their medical data input into a 98% accuracy metric. By 19, Rakia launched a full-service software development firm focused on improving company revenues. In 2006 Rakia was one of the first black female developers to implement Salesforce to Nonprofits and Businesses nationally and has architected over 500 custom database solutions in her career.
