Defining Moment

The problem is connected learners and connected teachers/faculty were getting more and better opportunities for work-based learning and career exploration while disconnected and underserved learners weren't getting any. As well as many CBO's and education partners were reaching out to the same employers asking for opportunities. And, employers were asking for us to better organize ourselves. Earn & Learn sought to fix this siloed system and build ELENA to serve as the mechanism to coordinate the efforts. As well as to share the employer work-based learning pledged equitably amongst learning communities so that all students could explore the world of work, whether they attend a high perming high school, a court and community schools, are currently incarcerated or currently in-and-out of school. ELENA offers proven structure for employer engagement, WBL tracking, and management with the ability for regions to manage security needs, as well as some flexibility for customization. ELENA allows users to collaborate and forge new alliances and partnerships across organizations, leading to better outcomes for all learners. Offers robust reporting by employer, district, school or individual connectors.
